Corrections Policy

Faceted Media Magazine is committed to accuracy. When we get something wrong, we want to know — and we want to make it right.

How to Request a Correction

If you believe we have published incorrect information, please email our editor at kim@facetedmedia.com with: the URL of the article; a description of what you believe is incorrect; the correct information, if you have it; and your source for the correct information, if applicable. We aim to respond within two business days.

How We Handle Corrections

When we determine that an article contains a factual error, we will: (1) Correct the error in the article. The corrected text replaces the incorrect text. (2) Add a corrections note. Significant corrections include a note at the top or bottom of the article noting what was wrong, what is now correct, when the correction was made, and (if relevant) the source for the correction. (3) Update the modification date. The article’s dateModified is updated, and the change is reflected in the article’s schema.

What Counts as a Correction

A correction is required when we have published a factual error — a misstated number, a misspelled name, an incorrect attribution, an inaccurate description of an event. Stylistic edits, minor clarifications, or refinements that do not change meaning may be made without a corrections note, though we will update the article’s modification date.

Retractions

In rare cases where an article contains errors so significant that correction alone is insufficient, we may retract the article. A retraction note will remain at the URL explaining what was retracted and why.

Accountability

The editor of Faceted Media Magazine is responsible for the accuracy of all content. Editorial errors that result from staff actions are the editor’s responsibility, and our corrections process reflects that.
